My husband wanted to find his biological father. He was adopted in the first few weeks of life, although in his sixties when he started this journey. He needed to know of his identity, and try to understand the story of why he was adopted. He had already taken the DNA test, but didn’t know how to progress once he received the results.
I was put in touch with Louise Baldock who is a DNA Genealogist from Finding Families. I liaised with Louise on my husband’s behalf. From the outset Louise was fantastic. She put me totally at ease, and guided me every step of the way. Kept me updated and informed as the information became evident. She is so easy going. I felt like I had made a new friend. I found her patience and understanding very comforting, in the moments I got emotional and upset.
She arranged for copies of birth and death certificates. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We thought we had as much Information as we could get, thinking the case was closed, and that my husband biological father had died many years ago. Then a few months later, she emailed saying someone had been in touch and that she had an email address of one nephew who had left the UK and moved to Canada. That nephew was happy to make contact. This in turn lead to finding four nieces and nephews. Three who have been to visit my husband and zoom time with the one in Canada. They have all been most welcoming, kind, generous, a truly lovely family. We have been told stories of their grandad, my husband’s biological father.
At long last the my husband has found peace. He is very proud of all new found family, and continues to keep in touch.
